Over the past 4 years, the HAPI-YEP program has worked with over 100+ students throughout Magnolia High School in Anaheim, CA. This year, our cohort of students, who we’ve worked with since they were freshmen through a specialized English course APAC, have graduated and will be attending various universities and colleges in the fall!!
To all our community partners, thank you for your continued support over the past 4 years. We couldn’t have done without you!
As the HAPI-YEP program comes to an end, we would like to congratulate all our students for their accomplishments over the past 4 years.
To our OCAPICA students, this journey has always been about you. We’ve seen you all grow into socially conscious individuals, critical thinkers, empowered leaders, and change agents. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. You are the definition of success. As you begin this new chapter of your life as young adults, we want you to know that you are important and you matter. We are excited to see the greatness all of you will bring into the world. Oh! The places you will go!
Congratulations to the class of 2017 and we wish you all the best!!
On April 13th and 14th, we took our students to the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center to participate in a college transition retreat. Since most of our students are graduating, we decided that instead of taking them on a college field trip we would support our students by helping them transition to college.
As part of the retreat, students participated in numerous workshops such as learning how to create their college schedule and a panel of folks who work at the colleges and universities. We also had our students participate in physical activities such as the ropes course and zip lining as a metaphor for learning to take risks and being excited about their futures.
